having parents sign the planner once a week (preferably Thursday or Friday)
reading for 20 minutes every night

practicing math facts (using flash cards, work sheets, or games)
5 spelling words, homework twice per week (missed word sentences on Monday and color code shape boxes on Wednesday)
science and social studies as it comes up
Mrs. Binsfield’s expectations are:
reading for 20 minutes 4 times every week
spelling core word sentences on Monday (5 spelling words)
spelling personal word sentences on Wednesday

reading for 20 minutes four times per week with parent initials

math problem solving introduced on Monday, scaffolded on Wednesday, due on Friday
